A (not actually) STATEMENT FROM YOUR OVERLORDS AT QUT
You can’t study in the library that you pay for after 6pm because you just can’t, OK?
It’s impossible.
Never mind the fact that your immense tuition bill and SAF fees pays for the place.
Never mind the fact that the library used to have late, near-unstaffed opening hours without issue.
Never mind the fact that may students don’t have an easily accessible alternative place to study, whether that be due to living in woefully inadequate student accommodation or the family home in which nobody quite realises that we can’t come out for tea and a chat with nan because we have Ethics due next week.
Never mind that fact that to get a grad job these days you basically have to have a year or two of 9-5 work in a law firm before even graduating, not to mention the spiraling cost of living making daytime uni even more of a fantasy than it already was.
Nope, the QUT law library will close at 6pm, because nobody has to plan their study time around work and personal commitments. Right?
Fuck you, we’re in charge.
